Chic Ways To Memorial Day Decor

So here we are at the end of May already.

Memorial Day is a week away, and the mark of mid year is right behind it. Where did the time go, right? Well, ready or not, it’s happening, and it’s time to get those tablescapes celebrate ready.

The trouble is, I’m not always easily inspired by a few flags in a vase, red flowers or flag signs.

If you can relate, and you’re looking for chic ideas for Memorial Day, I have some inspo that will change the drab into fab.

Beautiful and elegant, Carolyne Roehm’s photo (above) shows us how to use blue and white in a most elegant way. Her book, “A Passion For Blue and White” has so many beautiful and inspiring photos. I’ve included a link to it at the end of this post.

This outdoor setting from Charlotte Moss’s Garden Inspirations would make a beautiful poolside lunch setting or a chic outdoor gathering to commemorate fallen soldiers. Who wouldn’t love to sit and enjoy a meal here?

Veranda gives us a stunning view of chinoiserie with beautiful white tulips. For a patriotic spin I’d add some red poppies or dark pink hydrangeas. I always find dark pinks to be a suitable replacement when you don’t want to go with the traditional red. It’s bright and because it’s from the same family, it’s not too far off to take away from the occasion.

One of my favorite magazines, Traditional Home, brings chic blue and white to the table with ginger jars and and hydrangeas. I love the way they stuck with blue and white, and those bicolored hydrangeas are legit gorgeous!

Here’s a simplistic breakfast nook setting from Mark D. Sikes, “Beautiful: All-American Decorating and Timeless Style.” Just imagine trading those yellow-greens out for those dark pinks, whites, bicolored blues or reds. And did you check out the view of that greenery? (Drool)

Just a little inspo for some fabulous, chic decorating for this Memorial Day. Check out the links, below, to get more inspo. Each of these books/magazines will give you tons of ideas to carry you through the season.
